NUEVA SECCIÓN. Divinos lunes!! Divine mondays!

Estreno nueva sección el blog! 


Pensé que Dante se merecía un lugar especial, de modo que los lunes leerán más sobre la Divina Comedia. 

Hoy les traigo algunos de los testimonios de la impronta que el poeta italiano por excelencia imprimió en los artistas de todas la épocas y lugares.
Pueden ver la Puerta del Infierno, de Rodin, y un detalle de la misma. La última ilustración, también de Rodin, es Ugolino, quien encerrado junto con sus hijos, los ve morir para luego comérselos, antes de perecer él mismo (última foto). Bueno, es el Infierno... son palabras mayores!
La pintura, Dante y Virgilio en el infierno es de William Adolphe Bouguereau, de 1850, y plasma la entrada de ambos en el octavo círculo del infierno.
Por último, los medallones son obra del escultor Antoine-Augustin Préault.  
Todas ellas están en el Museo de Orsay, en Paris.

Today I bring you testimonies of his trace in many artists of different ages and places.
First, Hell´s door by Rodin, and a close up of it. The last picture, from the door too, is Ugolino, punished in hell with his sons, that die and are eaten by their own father! Big thing! It´s hell people!!!
The painting is Dante and Virgilio in Hell, by William Adolphe Bouguereau, which shows the enter                                                                                                          of them in the 8th circle. Last but                                                                                                              not least, the faces of both of them,                                                                                                          by Antoine-Augustin Préault.
