  Hoy comparto con ustedes un párrafo de este hermoso libro, que dice de inmejorable modo el desafío mayor, a mi entender, que todo aquel que escribe afronta.
“ Cuando empiezas a escribir en primera persona, si las historias resultan tan reales que la gente se las cree, los lectores pensarán casi siempre que esas historias te sucedieron de verdad. Y es natural porque, al inventarlas, hiciste que le sucedieran a la persona que las contaba. Si lo logras, consigues que el lector crea que estos hechos le sucedieron también a él. Y si eres capaz de hacerlo, empiezas a conseguir lo que pretendías, que es construir algo que se convertirá en parte de la experiencia del lector y en parte de su memoria. Habrá cosas que no notó al leer la historia o la novela, pero sin que se dé cuenta, penetraran su memoria y su experiencia, de modo que pasarán a formar parte de su vida. Conseguirlo no es sencillo”.

“ When you begin to write in the first person, if the stories are so real that people believe them, readers will almost always think that those stories really happened to you. And that’s natural because, when you made them up, you made them happened to the person who related them. If you do so, you make the reader believe that those facts happened to him too. And if you are able to do it so, you begin to achieve what you wanted, that is to create something that will become a part of the reader’s experience and memories. There will be things he won’t pay attention to when reading the story or novel, but without his awareness, will penetrate his memory and experience in a way that they will be part of his life. Achieving it is not easy!”
